Parameters for the lighthouse project:
· Use readily available materials, you can bring material from home but you may not get it them back
· Create a 3- 5 ft. lighthouse that will be operational and displayed around the school
· Materials could include:
· Wire frames, paper mache
· Cardboard
· Duct tape
· Light houses will be painted and weather proof
· They will wired and there will be programing to make the light operational
Consider the following for your project:
· What is the fingerprint of the lighthouse (how do you know what lighthouse you are looking at from its signal?
· Where will your lighthouse reside e.g. on a headland, or rocky island etc.
· The team will have to document the project.
· Allocate jobs for the team member.
· We will have to draw a to scale drawing on a piece of graph paper.
· Work on your design e.g. cylindrical, square etc. and what is the benefit of one over the other.
· We will build a prototype.
